45 or 60 minutes. Special arrangements will be made for classes less than 45 minutes or more than 60 minutes.
Depending on which students you see and classes you give, you may be provided material or required to use your own. We use curriculums which our students are familiar with but focus on the British and American curriculum outside of special requests.
While we do not require our teachers to submit lesson plans to administration, we expect our teachers to be well prepared for each and every lesson.
Some classes require preparation before the class with no homework while others require homework after the class. Some courses have regular tests or assessments to check if the student is ready to advance to the next level. You are required to provide feedback on the progress of students after tests or during course levels in the cases of students’ requiring interventions.
Depending on the client’s requests, you may have to provide a trial lesson for him or her. Trial lessons are 45 minutes in length, and give you and the student the chance to feel each other’s characteristics and abilities out.
Four times a year teachers are required to submit video recordings or their lessons for review and feedback.
We’re actively recruiting professional teachers. The time from your first interview with us to your first class is approximately 2-4 weeks.
Due to the high number of applications that we receive each day, only short-listed applicants will receive an email within 1 week of sending their applications. If you do not hear from us after 10 days this means that you have unfortunately not been short-listed. This does not necessarily reflect a failure to meet our requirements.
Video interviews are normally scheduled within 1-7 days depending on your availability and that of our hiring manager.
If you pass the initial interview phase our hiring manager will reach out to you and request that you give a demo lesson to one of our actual students. After that, you will receive full training where applicable and do a mock lesson. The final hiring decision will be based on your mock lesson which will also be used to market you to parents/clients.
Our management team will review your lesson and get back to you with a decision within 3-5 days. If you’re hired we’ll get you ready for your first lesson in about 1-2 weeks!
* Note: The time from hiring to your first lesson greatly depends on your availability and that of the students.
After sending your CV through to us, we will get back to you with the relevant information including teacher pay.
We pay our teachers on the 10th of every month for the previous month’s work via PayPal, Payoneer or local EFT depending on your location and student location.
